Chastity D. Marie

Chastity D. Marie calls Texas her home. Her love of music springs from a close family with spiritual roots. Her parents and siblings have filled their lives and souls with music and have used their gift for performing, mostly in church.

If you’re thinking the name Marie sounds familiar, it should. Chaz was half of the Universal Records duo, The Marie Sisters. Their self-titled debut CD was released in June of 2002. The girls kicked off their CD release by performing at Fan Fair on the River Stages and received over the top response from fans and fellow artists.

They also received a warm reception at country radio with their debut single, "Real Bad Mood." The video did well on CMT, and the girls were spotlight artists on GAC. The CD itself received rave reviews on the "song selection and powerhouse vocals".

The Marie Sisters toured with Kenny Rogers, Wynona, Lonestar, JoDee Messina, Joe Nichols and others.

Chaz has forged out on her own, unable and unwilling to deny the blessing that is her voice.

"It’s a new horizon for me, a chapter in my life I can’t wait to read," she said.

Humble, but never timid, she has rebuilt new opportunities with her own bare hands and with the help of fans like Richard Marx, with whom she and Max T. Barnes had worked on The Marie Sisters CD. Richard, sought by Disney to score a song for their 50th Anniversary Celebration, had written "this giant ballad with no one but Chaz in mind for the female part." Chaz flew to Marx studio in Chicago and "the magic was reeeally there, and we captured every ounce of it! -awesome!"

It was something to be proud to be a part of indeed.
